A. Dispense Rxs
Overview
The Dispense Rxs screen enables quick status updates for prescriptions and displays key prescription details along with any relevant HIPAA remarks for the patient.
While prescriptions are typically dispensed via POS, E-Signature Software, or Mobile Delivery Device, you can manually update dispensing statuses and collect online signatures without a POS transaction on this screen.
To access the Dispense RX screen, click on Dispense / Delivery A. Dispense RX.
To update a prescription's workflow status to "Picked Up," "Delivered," or "Shipped," select the desired status from the dropdown and click "Update." To exit the screen, click "Cancel" or press the "Esc" key.
Online Signatures without POS Transaction
Messaging Interface is required for this functionality, make sure to select Email/SMS in Outbound Messaging Settings for Refill Reminder in order to send notifications.
An online signature can now be requested when using the Dispense Rx’s from the Dispense/Delivery menu to mark an Rx as “Picked Up”, “Delivered”, or “Shipped”. To request an online signature, simply check the box in the lower left corner and hit the “Update” button.
Choose the method to send the notification to the patient, then click the Next button. Email or SMS are the only methods to send this notification.
Verify all details, then click the Add To Message Queue button.
Online Signature - Text Message Example
The patient will receive a text message when the messaging queue has processed the request. From here they will click the highlighted link to take them to the page to submit their signature.
Identity Verification
From this link the patient will need to submit their ‘Last Name’, and ‘Date of Birth’ to proceed to the next screen.
Rx Information and Signature
On this screen the patient will review their Rx information and submit their signature and press ‘Submit’.
Workflow Signature View
After the patient submits their signature for the prescription, click the ‘H' button next to Workflow Status in Rx Processing to open the Rx Workflow History. Here, you can view the patient's signature for the medication and print it by selecting 'Print Signature’.
