In order to use BestRx, you will need a valid User ID and Password. This is typically set up for owner or pharmacy manager during the initial software installation with the help of our staff.
If you're a guest at the pharmacy, you will need to request a username be created by the owner or a manager in the same fashion, as BestRx cannot issue User IDs or passwords for security and liability reasons.
After you've selected your User ID, type in your Password and your technician's initials if you will be working with a specific technician. If you are a technician, you can enter the pharmacist's initials if you will be working with a specific pharmacist.
User ID: Select the ID of the user from a drop down list. User IDs are generally short, like a first initial and last name format.
Password: Enter the password of the selected User ID.
Pharmacist Initials: If the User ID selected has RPh initials, they will be displayed here. If the User ID selected only has technician initials, you can enter the RPh initials manually. These initials get auto-populated in the RPh initials fields when working on prescriptions.
Technician’s Initials: If the User ID selected has Tech initials, they will be displayed here. If the User ID selected only has RPh initials, you can enter the technician’s initials manually. These initials get auto-populated in the Tech initials fields when working on prescriptions.
NPI: Displays the pharmacist’s NPI. To clarify, this is not the pharmacy NPI; it is the NPI belonging to an individual pharmacist.
Message to be Printed on Receipt: If a receipt is reprinted from BestRx, this message will display. BestRx does not have any native receipt printing functions; there must first be a transaction in BestPOS that links back to a prescription.
The Gear icon brings up a BestRx Properties window for your system. Here you can find the version of the program you are on, our address and contact information, the name of your PC, your operating system and version, the name of your server, and some other information useful for troubleshooting.
The Clock and Calendar icon will bring up the Time Clock function. For more information, please see the full Time Clock article.
The Quick Support button will download and launch Quick Support, a remote access program that our Technical Support department uses to assist directly on pharmacy workstations.
