Medi-Span Update

The Medi‑Span update is a critical update for your BestRx system. It includes essential drug information such as allergies, interactions, education messages, and drug identification details. If any medications are missing information, running the Medi‑Span update may resolve those issues.

To access the Medi-Span Update screen, click on Administration 4. Medi-Span Update

By default, the update downloads and applies Monographs, Medication Guides, and Drug Images. You can skip any of these by opening the More Options menu and adjusting the settings as shown below.

To obtain a Medi‑Span update, click the Update button in the lower‑left corner of the screen.

Note: For best performance, run this update on the server computer—preferably when the pharmacy is closing—to avoid network‑related issues. Once the download completes, the system automatically processes and updates all files. You may select the weekly‑only update, but running the default update is recommended for best results.

Click Finish when prompted.

To exit this screen and return to work, click Exit or press Enter when the Exit button is highlighted.
