To access the Merge Patient Profiles screen, click on Rx Profile -> 3. Merge Patient Profiles.
Merging Patient Profiles
The Merge Patient Profiles allows the user to merge any two patients files together into one profile.
To merge two profiles into one, the user will have to bring up the two profiles on the Merge Patient Profiles screen. To do this, the user can type in the whole name of the patient in the Transfer Profile From field to bring up the patient profile. The user can also search for a patient name by typing in a partial name and either clicking the search button next to the field or by pressing the "Enter" key. This will bring up a list of names that match the criteria entered. Choose the appropriate patient either by clicking anywhere on the row of the patient or by typing in the line number in the field below the list and pressing the "Enter" key. Repeat these steps for the Transfer Profile To field.
There is no way to undo a merge without editing each prescription individually and changing the associated patient.
When both profiles are brought up, click on the "Merge Profiles" button or press the "Enter" key when the "Merge Profiles" button is highlighted to merge the displayed patient profiles.
The user may also clear all the data displayed on the screen by clicking the "Cancel" button or by pressing the "Enter" key when the "Cancel" button is highlighted.
