Performing the Price Update
Weekly Price Update
This screen allows you to receive a weekly price update from BestRx. These prices are sourced from a third‑party database, so there may be slight differences between the updated prices and your actual wholesaler pricing.
If you would like more accurate pricing based directly on your wholesaler—and you do not use the BestRx POS system—please contact us for more information about the BestRx Wholesaler Interface (EDI).
To access the Weekly Price Update screen, click on Administration 2. Price Update.
Performing Price Update
To obtain a price update, select what pricing you'd like to update using the respective options.
It’s recommended to use the default options and manually adjust the drug acquisition cost only if needed.
If you select Yes for Brand or Generic Acquisition Cost, BestRx cannot determine your actual acquisition costs, so prices will be updated using a base percentage. To manually control acquisition costs for each drug, select No for the acquisition pricing options.
Use the drop-down list to select the week for the update, then click Download or press Enter when the Download button is highlighted.
Once complete, a report displays the prices updated for the selected week. The report includes two tabs: the main tab shows updated prices and the weekly total, and the second tab lists any new NDCs. You can then perform another update by selecting a different week or exit the screen when finished.
Price Update for Multiple Weeks
Press Ctrl + Shift + F12 or Fn + Shift + F12 to perform multiple price updates once you have selected the date range.
Warning: Running price updates from earlier dates may overwrite manual price changes made by the pharmacy if those drugs are included in the update. Review the Price Updates report after running the update. If you have questions or need assistance, contact Support before proceeding.
Updates run week by week and may take several minutes, depending on the selected date range. Use the Price Update Report to review pricing changes for each week.
Printing
To print the report, click Print or press Enter when the Print button is highlighted.
To export the report, click Export Data or press Enter when the Export Data button is highlighted.
Note: Export to Excel requires the full version of Microsoft Excel/Office and does not work with Office Starter 2010 or other starter or third‑party versions. If you are using one of these, export the report as a CSV file instead.
