To Merge Drugs, click on Misc -> 4. Merge Drugs.

This function will allow the user to merge drug records in the BestRx system. It requires a daily password that's generated by the BestRx server, and thus requires you to call BestRx in order to have these drugs merged; this is a precaution to ensure no records are lost, as this process is IRREVERSIBLE.

Merge Drugs Screen

The merge drugs function works in the same way as the merge patient and merge prescribers function. It allows the user to merge any two drug files together into one record.

  • To merge two drugs into one, the user will have to bring up the two drug profiles on the Merge Drugs screen.

  • To do this, the user can type in the whole NDC of the drug in the Transfer Info From field to bring up the drug profile.

  • The user can also search for a drug name by typing in a partial name or NDC and either clicking the search button next to the field or by pressing the "Enter" key. This will bring up a list of names that match the criteria entered.

  • Choose the appropriate drug by clicking anywhere on the row of the drug.

  • Repeat these steps for the Transfer Info To field.

When both records are brought up, click on the "Merge Drugs" button or press the "Enter" key when the "Merge Drugs" button is highlighted to merge the displayed drug records.

The user may also clear all the data displayed on the screen by clicking the "Cancel" button or by pressing the "Enter" key when the "Cancel" button is highlighted.
