11. Insurance Group File


  • Plan Grouping

    • Group multiple insurance plans under a single identifier

    • Use group as a lookup/reporting unit instead of individual plans

Insurance Group File

Insurance Groups allow you to group insurances under custom headers for an easier time searching in other reports in BestRx. This allows you to quickly search for information pertaining to insurances under a certain group without having to search and select each one individually. By default, no groups exist in BestRx. They need to be created manually.

To access the Insurance Group File, go to File 10. Insurance Group File.

Creating an Insurance Plan Group

Open the Insurance Group File and click Add Insurance Plan Group.

Enter in a name at the top for your group. Then, use the search bar below to look up insurance plans by Insurance Plan Name, Plan Code, BIN #, or PCN/Proc Control #.

You can select as many of the resulting plans as possible to add, and then click Add Selected Insurance Plans to Group to add the plans to your new group. Once added, they will appear in the list below. To save the group, click Save or Save & Exit at the bottom left.

Editing an existing Insurance Plan Group

To modify an existing insurance group, navigate to File 11. Insurance Group File, select the desired group from the list, and ensure the Edit Insurance Group option is selected.

To add items, use the Search for Insurance field to link to this Group, select the desired entries from the results, and click Add Selected to Group.

To remove items, select them from the group list and click Remove Selected.

After making changes, click Save to apply updates or Save & Exit to apply updates and return to the Rx Processing screen.

Deleting an Insurance Plan Group

To delete a Insurance plan group, ensure the Insurance plan group option is selected, then click Delete. When prompted with the confirmation message, “Are you sure you want to delete this record?”, click Yes to proceed.

To cancel changes or clear the screen, click Cancel or press Enter when the Cancel button is highlighted.


Using Groups When Searching

Now that a group has been created, you can use it in most reports that let you search by plan. Simply enter the group name, and it will appear as a search result with the Plan Codes of the group’s plans listed with it.

Exporting

You can export the displayed search results into a insurance group file for external use or reporting.
