NY Drug Retail Price Report
This report is used to generate a New York Drug Retail Price Report according to the drugs you use in the pharmacy; it can be used to print a report and it will be used to display a pop-up window while the cursor is on the quantity fields on the main processing screen displaying the NY Retail price when filling cash prescriptions. This list is provided/available on the state of NY website and our software obtains the list directly from the state when using the Auto-Update function. The price for these drugs is NOT provided by the state; it is something that is supposed to be controlled by the pharmacy and the price applied automatically is based off the Price Code of the Cash plan.
To utilize the report, the list must first be generated automatically or built manually selecting the appropriate medication.
To update the list automatically, simply click the "Auto-Update" button. If the list is already populated, you will be given an option to wipe it and update it or to cancel the auto-update.NOTE:
Note |
---|
This process is irreversible, and will wipe any edits/additions/deletions to the list. For this reason, this should only be done periodically and with care, as the update will then require those changes to be re-done. |
To update the list manually, follow these steps:
Enter the drug name in the top field.
Enter Quantity of the drug you're adding.
Finally select how you'd like to calculate the retail price.
Using a Price Code will use the entered price code formula to set the retail price. To see your price code formulas, towards the top-left of the screen, click on File -> 7. Price Code File.
Raising a Percentage will make the retail price a certain percentage above the AWP. For example, if the AWP for a quantity of 30 is $20.00 and you set up the retail price to raise 5 percent, then the retail price will be $21.00.
Raising a Flat Amount will add a certain flat dollar amount to the AWP. For example, if the AWP for a quantity of 30 is $20.00 and you set up the retail price to raise $2.00, then the retail price will be $22.00.
Entering a Flat Amount will set the retail price to the entered value, no matter what the AWP is.
If you select one of the first 3 methods (Using a Price Code, Raising a Percentage, or Raising a Flat Amount), then the retail price will automatically change whenever the AWP for the drug is changed. That means that once you set a drug up once, you never have to worry about it again. Whenever the AWP changes, so will the Retail Price.
If you select the fourth option (Entering a Flat Amount), then you will have to manually change the retail price whenever the AWP changes.
Select if you would like to round the retail price up to a certain value. For example, if the calculated retail price is $21.53 and you select round up to the next _._9, the retail price will be $21.59. If you select round up to the next _.95, the retail price will be $21.95.
When you have selected the desired options, click "Save" to save the drug to your current working list.
At any point you can click "Clear" to clear your selection and input a different medication.
When you're done adding all the necessary drugs, select the correct date to print on report from the top right corner, and finally click "Print" in the bottom right to print the list or "Export" to export it to a file. NOTE: Export to Excel only works on full versions of Microsoft Excel/Office. It does NOT work with the Office Starter 2010 and other starter/third party versions. If using any one of these, export to a Comma Separated Values (CSV) instead.
