For an up-to-date listing, please visit the NPLEx website..

The service itself unfortunately does not provide any files or help identifying products that contain PSE, and the pharmacy has to flag the products in the BestPOS program manually. As they do not provide any product identifiers, the grams per box information is also not provided and has to be entered manually.

NOTE : If these items are not flagged, they will not prompt the PSE / MethCheck process during transactions. It is the pharmacy's responsibility to ensure these items are properly flagged as PSE items.

FLAGGING AN ITEM FOR PSE CHECK

In the BestPOS Admin program, click the Item icon at the menu bar up top. The following screen will display.

Type the product description or the SKU to search for the item; alternatively simply scan the barcode off the product packaging. The item details will display on the screen.

Highlighted you will notice two sections; "PSE Grams per Box" displays how much of PSE is included in the boxed product, and the "Identification Check" marks the product as a PSE Check item. Grams per box do not have to be entered to run the inquiry, however the Identification Check is required to properly flag a product for PSE check. After making appropriate changes click "Save & Exit".

RINGING UP A PSE ITEM IN BESTPOS

In the BestPOS program, scan the item you have just edited. The following screen will pop-up prompting the user to select a customer for whom this check will be performed.

After confirming the information and submitting the inquiry, you will be taken back to the main register screen of BestPOS. You can add other items to the transaction, or tender the transaction if nothing else is being purchased. The following box will display when attempting to tender for the transaction.

In this particular case, the amount for "PSE Grams per Box" was not indicated in the item file and the box is highlighted in red. In order to properly report the dispensing of the medication, the Grams has to display the proper amount as specified on the packaging of the medicine being dispensed. If attempting to dispense the medication without indicating the grams per package, the following error will come up.

With the corrected information you can finalize the transaction by clicking the "Confirm Customer Info" button.

If the pharmacy is not using a signature pad for their transactions, a following window will display to notify the pharmacy the purchase request has been submitted successfully, and to provide a MethCheck Transaction ID.

If the pharmacy is using a signature pad, the transaction completes as normal, with the amount/signature box displaying prompting the customer to sign on the signature pad.
